Broad Haven

It’s a drippy day in Wales – and a good day for a long bus ride! We traveled from Llandeilo to Broad Haven (via Carmarthen and Haverfordwest). But first we stopped at the bakery (priorities, priorities).

Haverfordwest’s castle, overlooking the bus station.

We were shepherded to our very cozy Broad Haven bungalow by a lovely lady named Joanna, who lives just down the street. She was chock full of helpful hints, and insisted that we visit their wonderful new library in Haverfordwest. Yes, ma’am. Below is our gorgeous (albeit temporarily drippy) view of the sea from the warm and cozy conservatory.

Broad Haven is a tiny little place directly on the Pembrokeshire coast path. It’s located midway between St. David’s and Skomer Island, our two prime out-of-town destinations.

The rain cleared in the afternoon, and we explored Broad Haven’s vast beach. As I write this note some 5 hours later, there is no beach to be seen…

  1. I’m reading this on a grey, chilly, and drippy day in Boulder, so it’s very appropriate. It’s too bad you can’t accumulate miles like you do for planes. With all the transport you’re using, you could probably have enough miles for several more trips! Still enjoying my virtual travels with you.
