Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle in the afternoon. (The queen was not in residence, sadly.) No interior shots allowed, alas.

Windsor abounds in gargoyles and grotesques – my favorite guttersnipes!

We heard sung Evensong in the glorious St. George chapel, seat of the Knights of the Garter (including Lady Knights) and a wonder of Gothic architecture at its finest. The men-and-boys choir was glorious, and the boys were not all lily-white for a change. No girls though – unlike St. David’s in Wales.

The Thames riverfront in Windsor is home to hundreds of swans (fat, greedy swans).
